HelpAge International, Eurasia and the Middle East, Jordan
Lina Alqurah came to HelpAge International from Action against Hunger, where she worked as the Regional Advocacy Manager with a mandate that covers Iraq, Yemen and Jordan. Earlier, she took many senior positions working for Search for Common Ground as the Manager of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security Project, Freedom House Jordan Country Director, Director of Gender Project of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) and the Executive Director of Sisterhood Is Global Institute/ Jordan. Lina has a wide knowledge and lengthy experience in human rights, gender equality, human development and humanitarian aid, complemented by leadership, building partnerships, network strengthening, advocacy and gender mainstreaming skills among others.
Lina engages with and supports HelpAge Network members in Eurasia and the Middle East to, among others, advocate for a UN Convention on the Rights of Older People and to include older women and men in national development plans and the implementation of Agenda 2030 of SDGs in their countries.
